Just bring a diagram or photo of your garden to the nursery, together with the size of the beds, and we will provide advice on which plants to put where.

Many factors in today’s fast lane of living have created a real need for the individual and the family to unwind at home. Fortunately our climate encourages outdoor recreation and entertainment, that’s why your garden should be designed as an extension of the home.

Design Proposal

 

Special consideration should be given to the following aspects such as:

 

1. Low maintenance (irrigation system, water wise plants, limited lawn area, pavers)

2. All year round good appearance (perennials, shrubs)

3. Ecologically sound principals (attract birds and insects, water-wise plants)

4. Stimulation of the senses (sight, sound, smell, touch) and creating various options for outdoor recreation as space is limited.

 

Suggested proposal for the design and outlay of your garden

 

This is not a final proposal. More care will be given to finer detail as the project advances. Consideration should also be given to things such as the architecture and style of the garden and house. It is also important to integrate the garden with the environment that surrounds the house.

You will see in the financial proposal that the quotation is broken up in sections. This makes it easer to show how the costs are divided and to adjust costing if we need to. The design is simple and neat, very little maintenance will be needed.

Fertilizer needs to be filled in to improve the soil quality. Fertilizer will either be a combination of organic compost and sifted kraal manure hereafter referred to as the SOIL MIX.

​

The Plant budget will be made up from the plants in the flowerbeds. Screen plants, focal plants, fill in plants, flowering perennials, annuals and ground covers will be chosen for their beauty, style and adaptability to the area and position in the garden.

Finishing touches are all the finer elements of landscaping and this is also the more expensive part of this industry.

​

Decorative finishes are finishes to round of the holistic picture.

All lawn planted is guaranteed weed free. Lawn will be planted in sods and will be fertilized and rolled, which will turn green in 4 weeks after planting if watered regularly.

Labour, supervision, design & travel refer to the following. Staff and daily overheads, my supervision of the staff and project, designing and changing as the project commences, collection of stock and plants, reshaping of flowerbeds, cleaning out flowerbeds, cleaning and pruning of shrubs and trees, working soil mix into flowerbeds as well as newly planned areas i.e. lawn.
